I works very well though. This helped me out a whole lot considering almost everything I connect to my computer is a usb connection. I might have to get another one eventually.
Oh well, you get what you pay for. It was so cheap it doesn't pay to return it. In this case, you get a little less than what you pay for. I was looking for a USB hub with a longer cable, but unfortunately only one of the four ports worked for me. Fairly useless.
My USB mike prefers to be connected direct to machine and not a hub. Can't beat ceap price, only weighs a few ounces, plastic with power light. I plugged my ancient Lexmark Optra R+ into it by using a parallel to USB cable and Vista64 recognized, found driver.
With this hub, there are no problems with that.If I had to buy an inexpensive, self-powered hub, I'd give this one a whirl. I have another USB hub with four ports right next to each other and some wider devices make it hard to use adjacent ports. I received this hub for free as it was a parting gift from a conference. The hub casing and such does feel a little flimsy as other people have mentioned, but I love the fact that there is one plug on each side of the unit.
It is splendid for being attached by a long wire to the computer so you have a place to put it on a crowded desk
